Join me in a group setting to learn a variety of techniques with colored pencil, pastel and acrylics to learn blending, layering, colors, composition and how to make your art your own!
I teach groups how to use various mediums to achieve color and textures of natural subjects, still life, animals, flowers and more. I enjoy teaching colored pencil which is the perfect fine art medium. Create multiple effects, mess free, flexible and you can carry it with you where you go.

Prickly Pear Cactus Flower Workshop
3 Hours – $60 per student

In this hands on lesson, beginner artists learn the process of creating a beautiful cactus flower. Students learn techniques for blending and shading color and gain confidence in their ability to draw and bring their own touch of creativity to draw a one of a kind art piece.

Draw from Nature – Expressive Seed Pods
3 Hours – $60 per student
Minimum class size: 6 people
Max class size: 12 people

Learn to design an interesting composition with seed pods to create a dramatic botanical drawing.
I demo and help you learn how to express light and shadow, contrast, texture and movement. You’re unique drawing will be a reflection of what you see and feel.
You will also learn how to layer colored pencils to build up opaqueness and a painterly look using complementary colors.

Purple and Green Grapes
3 Hours – $60 per student
Minimum class size: 6 people
Max class size: 10 people
All supplies provided – including fresh grapes!
Learn to design an interesting composition with provided fresh grape clusters and create a painterly style with colored pencils.
In my step-by-step process you will learn to work with pastels and colored pencils to create a luminous feel.
Learn to layer colored pencils with pastels to build up opaqueness and a painterly look using complementary colors.

Paint a Highland Cow in Acrylics
3 Hours – $65 per student
Minimum class size: 6 people

In this fun and creative painting workshop, learn step-by-step how to paint an expressive Highland Cow! We’ll start with a loose background, sketch the cow’s unique snout and broad head shape, then build the shaggy fur with layered, feathery strokes of color, focusing on texture and direction, adding depth with shading and highlights, and finally detail the eye for a charming, rustic look using acrylics.

Let loose and have fun! Step by step I’ll show you how to build up a loose composition that accents color, movement and feeling. Using Acrylics and multimedia materials, you will make it your own with your unique touch of creativity.

Draw an Expressive Horse Eye in a Painterly Style with Colored Pencils
3 Hours – $60 per student
Minimum class size: 6 people
Max class size: 10 people
All supplies provided.
In this step-by-step workshop, we will learn how to create an expressive horse eye and
the accents around the eye – bridle, fur and mane with colored pencils in a painterly
style. We will work with developing layers of color with techniques taught for drawing fur, hair, expression, color mixing and adding your artistic touch. A handout will be provided that will detail every step from beginning to end, along with one-on-one assistance.
